Data Breach Protection

The Merchant Cyber Liability Program protects merchants for the cost (up to $100,000 per merchant account) of an actual or suspected violation of a privacy regulation due to a security breach that results in the unauthorized release of protected personal information, which is any private, non-public information of any kind in the merchant’s care, custody, or control.

Business Restoration

  • Business identity theft protection and full-service identity restoration.
  • Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist investigates alerts, disputes fraudulent events, and returns to a pre-theft status.
  • Coverage for up to 5 business owners. $1 million policy with $0 deductible.
  • Increase of $50,000 in protection over the existing breach policy, there is also an e-theft coverage sublimit, providing $5,000 coverage for any electronic theft of funds from a merchant’s bank account.
  • Full Service Identity Restoration by CITRMS includes the assignment of a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist (“CITRMS) to work on behalf of the merchant. 
    • The CITRMS obtains a Limited Power of Attorney from the merchant allowing the Restoration Specialist to work on their behalf to investigate alerts, dispute fraudulent events, and return the subscriber to a pre-theft status. 
    • A restoration case is opened, and a restoration specialist assigned to the case to help take the burden off of the merchant. The restoration specialist can work with the merchant on guidance and in the event of fraud can work to get them back to a pre-theft status. 
  • Business Resolution Assistance offers the following benefits:
    • Covers expenses associated with identity theft recovery including lost wages or income, attorney legal fees, unauthorized electronic fund transfer, child and/or elderly care.
    • Completes virtually all aspects of the identity theft restoration process.
    • Provides a certified agent to work the dispute the unapproved activities with the approved entities, which saves time and eliminates out-of-pocket expenses.
